In my ongoing quest to find the perfect pointy-toe pump (a classic style that instantly elongates your legs), I came across a few resort ’13 standouts worth sharing. Not that I actually need any of these nor do I have the disposable income to warrant such frivolity. Then again, chasing toddler twins on the cobblestone streets Dumbo, Brooklyn in 4″ metallic stilettos (the shade du jour this spring), just might pave the way to my pursuit of happiness.
These Saint Laurent beauties are pure perfection. I’m beyond obsessed with the space age-y metallic sheen and elongated tab at the back. Very Flash Gordon, don’t you think? At $695 a pop, I might as well hop on the next red eye to the City of Light and strut my stuff along the Champs Elysees. Snag yours at ssense.com – one of my favorite multi-brand e-boutiques.
Holy hologram! Yet another striking masterpiece by the likes of Stella McCartney, who just so happens to be one of my favorite designers. This faux-leather holographic pump brings me back to the early ’80’s when Fiorucci was still around. Ahh, to be a metal-mouthed teen again. Only $760 at NeimanMarcus.com
I’m clearly having a love affair with all things glittery, shiny and sadly, unattainable. Unless you think $495 for these fabulous Jerome C. Rousseau Aizza pumps is affordable? While strikingly similar to the Saint Laurent pair above, Rousseau happens to hail from Quebec (as do I) so why wouldn’t I support a fellow Canadian. And a very talented one at that! Available at jeromecrousseau.com
I’ve been obsessing over these Ash metallic wedges for several weeks now. Initially I thought they were too flashy for my laissez-faire blogger / stay-at-home mother of twins lifestyle, but am suddenly rethinking the purchase given the obvious cool factor, comfort (who knew?) and somewhat justifiable price. I mean, Isabel Marant – original creator of the high-top wedge sneaker that everyone’s crazy about, charges a cool $600+ per pair (mais, oui!). Given that I already own two similar Ash styles in solid burgundy and another in a black/stone/cobalt color-block, why not add a 3rd to the family? Besides, I’ll look that much more chic (and several inches taller!) pushing my kids around in a Mountain Buggy stroller. Only $235 at Saks.com. Sold!
Buying sexy, strappy sandals like these at the end of January seems foolish. But… with warmer weather around the bend (I hope!), I’d hate to miss out on these beauties (a.k.a. Lund). In case you’re wondering, it’s all about the ankles this spring. The strappier, the better. Available for pre-order now at Jeromecrousseau.com. $795.
